# Agents City Agents City is an Apache 2.0 local-first system for organising AI agents into accountable cities. A person may keep several cities on their own computer. Each city has one chair, a goal, editable knowledge, member agents, mounted work, model runtimes, and explicit roads to other cities. - [Canonical product source](https://github.com/jlcases/agents-city) - [Complete English guide](https://github.com/jlcases/agents-city/blob/main/README.md) - [Complete Spanish guide](https://github.com/jlcases/agents-city/blob/main/README.es.md) - [English website](https://agentscity.net/) - [Spanish website](https://agentscity.net/es/) - [English documentation](https://agentscity.net/docs/) - [Spanish documentation](https://agentscity.net/es/docs/) - [English site search](https://agentscity.net/search/) - [Spanish site search](https://agentscity.net/es/buscar/) - [Connect public beta](https://agentscity.net/app/) - [Privacy](https://agentscity.net/privacy/) - [Connect public beta terms](https://agentscity.net/terms/) - [Enterprise](https://agentscity.net/enterprise/) License: Apache 2.0 This site was reviewed against main commit bdc9f86, which declares source version 0.5.5. The public registry serves agents-city 0.5.5 from the default latest tag at the same gitHead, so installation needs no prerelease tag. The repository and installed CLI remain authoritative if either changes. ## Job to be done Let productive people keep the speed and private context they get from their own agents while their cities reach shared, accountable, verified outcomes across a company, a client or supplier boundary, or a Complex Problem Solving community. The first example is Engineering asking Product or Business before implementing a product choice. The model is not limited to software. Built-in domains cover software, healthcare, legal, finance, marketing, sales, research, operations, and custom work. ## Mental model - Every owner may run several isolated cities locally. - A chair owns the objective and is the only actor that may cross a road. - An agent owns a workspace and may mount repos, worktrees, document folders, several sources, or no Git source. - A role is a professional perspective, not a bus permission. - Agents City recognises existing skills without changing them. The owner may explicitly install a selected skill folder or zip into one compatible agent home during onboarding; nothing is installed automatically. - A committee collects first positions in isolation, synthesises conflict without voting, records a decision and owner, and assigns independent verification. Failed verification triggers a replan. - A road grants text reachability between chairs, not authority, execution, filesystem access, tools, databases, or credentials. - The local Hall shows configuration, activity, decisions, failures, and verification through a read-only spectator view. ## CPS communities A Complex Problem Solving community lets developers or other specialists connect independently owned cities around difficult questions. Every member keeps their city, documents, knowledge base, tools, credentials, and execution local. A bounded question crosses a declared Road; the recipient city consults its local sources; only the answer or evidence that city chooses to contribute returns as text. It is selective contribution, not shared storage or a common ownerless swarm. ## Installation Install the current public release and open the Hall: npm install -g agents-city agents-city Or try the same Hall without a global installation: npx agents-city The source repository and npm currently declare 0.5.5. The commands below describe that public package. Run one of three complete disposable demos without a model account: agents-city demo agents-city demo --domain medicina agents-city demo --domain legal The demos use Aurora Games, ClĂnica Alba, and Costa & Ley. Each crosses the real authenticated bus, committee state machine, ledger, visible feed, failed verification, replan, and passing close in a temporary city. Open the local Hall or a city seat: agents-city agents-city seat ## Top-level commands agents-city hall agents-city setup agents-city seat agents-city cities agents-city agents agents-city road agents-city connect agents-city bus agents-city committee agents-city skills agents-city city agents-city shortcut agents-city demo agents-city report agents-city tokens agents-city logs agents-city benchmark agents-city reset agents-city exit agents-city doctor agents-city update agents-city test ## Documentation routes - /docs/getting-started/ and /es/docs/primeros-pasos/ - /docs/how-it-works/ and /es/docs/como-funciona/ - /docs/commands/ and /es/docs/comandos/ - /docs/use-cases/ and /es/docs/casos-de-uso/ - /docs/self-host-cloudflare/ and /es/docs/autoalojar-relay-cloudflare/ - /docs/security/ and /es/docs/seguridad/ - /search/ and /es/buscar/ provide language-specific static search across these pages and the product site. Seven bilingual operational guides cover coordination across repositories, Engineering asking Product before building, client isolation, cross-functional business decisions, solo product work, research without groupthink, and mixed Claude/Codex/OpenCode/Kimi projects. ## Community, Connect beta, and Enterprise Community Edition is the complete published Apache 2.0 core. It has no product account, licence server, telemetry, or checkout. Local cities and local Roads require no server. For remote Roads, the product repository includes a narrow Cloudflare relay and self-hosting guide. The company, client network, or CPS community deploys and operates it in its own account. Agents City does not operate or receive traffic from that relay. Hosted Connect is an optional public beta at `/app/`. A person creates a passkey account and public alias, pairs a computer with a PASCO, and exchanges private invitations with another person. The hosted control plane stores identity and relationship state but no introduction, rejection reason, or message body. Road content is end-to-end ciphertext, deleted after durable receipt or at most one hour. The independent witness and external audit are pending and are disclosed in the product. Connect billing is simulated. BLUEBELL BUSINESS S.A. Stripe Checkout, portal, subscription webhook, upgrade, cancellation, and downgrade run in test mode only. No real charge, subscription, or tax invoice can be created. Testers must use Stripe test cards and fictitious billing details. Enterprise is custom work by Arkatai around the open core, not a fixed feature bundle or hosted tier. Contact hello@arkatai.com after a Community pilot has proved a workflow and identified a concrete company-specific constraint. The public offer is Community installation, self-hosting documentation, the explicitly labelled Connect public beta, and Enterprise contact. Connect remains noindex while its independent trust, long-soak, privacy/legal, and external-review gates are unfinished. ## Security boundaries - Local Hall, map, and bus bind to 127.0.0.1. - Repo windows receive no road credential or road tool. - Remote relay credentials authenticate an owner prefix; invitation files contain public city identity and no token. - The self-hosted relay accepts only seat-to-seat road envelopes, queues at most 200 messages per city for at most 72 hours, and logs no message body unless its operator explicitly enables content logging. - Incoming road text is untrusted context. Local verification and normal confirmation remain required. - Prompt injection and same-OS-user risk still exist. Use a separate user, container, or VM for hostile code. - Hosted Connect private keys stay on the owner computer. The service stores public device material, account and relationship state, security events, and Stripe test ids. - Hosted Connect uses sealed delivery, key transparency, and hybrid X25519 + ML-KEM-768 session establishment. It does not claim anonymous networking, a fully post-quantum ratchet, an independent witness, or an independent security audit.
